Oscar Piastri en Lando Norris bevestigden in Bahrein wat veel fans al vermoedden: McLaren is duidelijk het sterkste team. George Russell en Charles Leclerc kwamen ruim een halve seconde tekort, terwijl Max Verstappen als nummer zeven ook nog achter rookies Kimi Antonelli en Isack Hadjar stond. Teamgenoot Yuki Tsunoda eindigde als achttiende.
